Getting Support
If you need assistance when applying for leave, please review our guidance pages on requesting leave and expenses and/or the Study Leave Policy and guidance documents provided on our Resources & Guidance page (www.eastmidlandsdeanery.nhs.uk/policies/study_leave/ResourcesGuidance).
You may also wish to contact your Programme Office (Primary Care) or local Study Leave Co-ordinator (Foundation/Secondary Care), who are usually based in your local Education Centre. Depending on your query, you may need to contact an HEE East Midlands team. A list of all Study Leave Coordinators, relevant HEE teams and their contact details is available at the bottom of this page.
We also have new guidance available on the NHS Learning Hub, specifically about study leave in the East Midlands and Accent Leave Manager.
If you're unsure who to contact with your query, please check the below FAQs.
For any queries about Accent Course Manager (which is a different product to Leave Manager), please email FacultySupport.em@hee.nhs.uk with the email subject "Course Manager query".
Placements are all managed by our Programmes Team; please contact the team on the appropriate address below:
- For doctors in Foundation programmes: FoundationProgrammes.EM@hee.nhs.uk
- For doctors in General Practice programmes: GPProgrammes.EM@hee.nhs.uk
- For all other trainees on East Midlands training programmes: SpecialtyProgrammes.EM@hee.nhs.uk
Remember that expenses are not processed by HEE or automatically by Leave Manager; you will need to submit these through your employer's system.
Please contact the Study Leave Coordinator for your current placement (rather than the placement at the time of the study leave) first; they will manage processing your expenses claim through your employer's system. If there is a technical issue, they will redirect your query to the HEE Study Leave Team, but only if necessary.
Trainee details are primarily managed by our Programmes Team; please contact the team on the appropriate address below:
- For doctors in Foundation programmes: FoundationProgrammes.EM@hee.nhs.uk
- For doctors in General Practice programmes: GPProgrammes.EM@hee.nhs.uk
- For all other trainees on East Midlands training programmes: SpecialtyProgrammes.EM@hee.nhs.uk
Please note that your contact email and Accent login are linked; if your contact email is updated, this will also update your Accent login email.
You can request your login details from the Accent homepage at any time: go to https://accent.hicom.co.uk/Portal/Live/Web/ and click on ‘Forgotten password’ – type in the email address that you have registered with HEE (the address held on the Trainee Information System, TIS) and click Send reset password link. Your login credentials will then be emailed to you from NoReply@hicom.co.uk - you may need to check your junk/spam folder as your email provider may filter the email.
If you do not receive login credentials, email StudyLeave.EM@hee.nhs.uk with your first name, surname, GMC/GDC number and preferred email address. Please put “Trainee Login Request” in the subject.
